Overview

A Nova Scotia Experience like no other.

Before sunrise, you’ll meet your captain and his crew at the wharf to board a working Northumberland Strait lobster fishing boat.

As the crew busies themselves preparing for an exciting day on the water, your captain will provide a safety briefing and tour of the vessel.  As you sail away from the wharf to your captain’s fishing grounds, you will witness a sunrise like no other over the beautiful Northumberland Strait.

You’ll observe the captain and his crew pushing traps up the washboard, measuring and picking lobsters, baiting traps, and banding lobster. You’ll learn about generations of fishing on the Northumberland Strait and about conservation efforts to protect this treasured way of life.

After a full day of fishing, you’ll head back to shore and witness daily life on the wharf with local fishermen selling their catch to buyers and getting ready for the next day of lobstering.

You won’t leave this experience empty handed or empty hearted. Your captain will send you home with two tasty Northumberland Strait lobsters, and a deep understanding of their culture and traditions.
