Join coastal ecotour guide Fred Dardenne on a foraging adventure, just 35 minutes from Halifax. Learn to identify, harvest & cook with foraged ingredients while protecting the ecosystem and celebrating our interconnectedness with nature.

Experience Highlights: 

• • Connect with master forager Frédéric Dardenne of Fred Dardenne Wildfoods & Fine Products. Originally from Belgium, Fred arrived to Nova Scotia in 2007 and immersed himself in the world of wild food and foraging.
  • Enjoy a 2-hour guided foraging walk on-site to identify Nova Scotia plants, mushrooms, seaweed, lichen, flowers, and other edible ingredients.
  • Explore a wealth of foraging insights from wild food and culinary design to understanding soil, impacts of human activities and pollution, and the benefits of being in nature!

• Tour participants should anticipate to walk 2 km max on this tour.
• Ecotours require a minimum of 1 participant up to a maximum of 8 participants.
• Group tours are available for up to 40 participants. Please contact Fred to inquire.
• While this tour is not ideal for participants with mobility challenges, a customized tour on more ideal trail conditions is available. Please contact Fred to inquire.

Conditions & Cancellations: Please cancel 24-hours in advance of your scheduled tour. Tours run rain or shine. If weather conditions are extreme, an option to reschedule your tour or cancel with refund is available.
