Event Details
Join The Friends of the Public Gardens on a one-hour horticultural and historical tour of the Halifax Public Gardens. Explore highlights of the only surviving Victorian Garden in North America, recognized as a National Historic Site in 1984.
Take in the dazzling displays of tropical plants and artistically arranged annual flower beds, towering heritage trees, and wildlife like ducks and turtles with a passionate, local guide.
2025 Dates: May 15 through late October.
- Monday through Sunday daily at 10:30 am, 12:00 pm, 1:30 pm, and 3 pm
- Wednesdays at 6:30 pm
Cost: Free!
To register: Please register at the Friends of the Public Gardens Visitor Information Desk in Horticultural Hall (Uncommon Grounds Café, 5771 Spring Garden Rd.) at least 10 minutes prior to the tour start time. Advanced tour registration is available by contacting info@halifaxpublicgardens.ca.
Meeting location: Please meet at Juan Plaza gates on Spring Garden Road (halfway between South Park Street and Summer Street), near the public washrooms and fountain in front of Horticultural Hall.
